Stephanie Janey announces candidacy for Milton Town Meeting Member, Precinct 5

Hello neighbors. My name is Stephanie Janey, and I am a Milton Town Meeting candidate for Precinct 5. As a native Bostonian, during the past 20 years I have maintained a frequent presence in Milton while visiting my daughter, taking care of my two grandsons, and patronizing various businesses and eateries in East Milton Square. Currently, I reside at Fuller Village and have enjoyed my first three years here as member of the Milton community. I love this town!

I am a candidate for Town Meeting because I want to participant in the governance of Milton. As an elected Town Meeting member, I will advocate for my Precinct 5 neighbors and support initiatives that will maintain the Town’s fiscal wellbeing and promote an excellent education for all children and quality of life for every Milton family and senior citizen.

My professional background is in public higher education where I was employed at UMass Boston and Roxbury Community College for a total of 32 years and achieved a doctorate in Higher Education Administration. My strengths are organization, management, budgeting, and problem-solving skills gained from years of administrative experience including the positions of Dean of Students and a Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs.

Currently, I serve as a member of the Fuller Village Residents’ Association Board. My most recent volunteer experience was phone banking for the Kamala Harris presidential campaign.
