Sean Patrick Bentley announces candidacy for Trustee of the Milton Public Library
Hello, my name is Sean Bentley, and I’m excited to be running for Trustee of the Milton Public Library!
I am a lifelong Milton resident and a 2018 graduate of Milton High School working as an Immigration Case Assistant at the Boston law firm Mintz Levin. I am currently a Precinct 7 Town Meeting Member and I serve on Milton’s Affordable Housing Trust. I am running for this position because the library has been an important part of my life since I was young and it has been an essential resource for me over the years. One of my earliest memories is reading on the red couch in the children’s room of the East Milton branch and I’ve continued to use the library many times over the years for research, studying, and even dropping by to read by the fireplace! In high school, I also coordinated a school supply collection with the Milton Public Library as the collection site, which filled many backpacks for students in need.
I love that the library is such an anchor for our town and it would be an incredible privilege to serve as a Trustee to help continue its excellent services. If elected, one of my ideas is to expand the wellness programs offered by the library, starting with a focus on healthy eating and exercise. I would love to collaborate with the library’s Cookbook Club, BID-Milton, and other organizations to offer events with nutritionists and personal trainers. The library is a great community center with excellent programming and I really hope to support its efforts to continue serving our town with helpful fun events! I hope to earn your vote on Tuesday, April 29th. Thank you very much for your consideration!
