Meghan Haggerty announces candidacy for Milton Select Board

My name is Meghan Haggerty, and I’m running for Milton Select Board because I believe in the power of local government to shape our everyday lives—and I want to use my experience to help strengthen the town my family and I proudly call home.

For nearly 20 years, I’ve worked in state and local government, serving under multiple administrations in leadership roles where I’ve helped solve complex problems, manage multimillion-dollar budgets, and build the kind of partnerships that get real results.

But the role that matters most to me is Mom. My husband and I are raising our two kids—Ben, 13, and Josie, 6—here in Milton. I’ve been deeply involved in our schools and community, from serving on the PTO and volunteering in classrooms, to representing Precinct 2 as a Town Meeting Member.

I’m running for Select Board to help lead Milton through a time of important decisions. From growth and development to infrastructure and education, our town is facing both opportunities and challenges—and we need steady, experienced leadership that puts people first.

If elected, I’ll bring a collaborative, transparent, and thoughtful approach to the board—one that’s rooted in public service and focused on delivering for our community. I’ll work to support our schools, strengthen town services, invest in our infrastructure, and ensure that Milton continues to be a place where families thrive.

Milton is more than where I live—it’s where I’m raising my kids, where I’ve built community, and where I’m deeply invested in our shared future. I’m running to help protect what makes this town special and to make sure it remains a welcoming, vibrant place for generations to come.
