Mary Stenson announce candidacy for Milton Board of Health
For those of you that want to know that who you vote for uses morals, values and ethics in day to day practice then I am the candidate you want to vote for.
As a Registered Nurse I am an enthusiastic practitioner with a willingness to serve. I worked in a skilled nursing facility as a teenager and was dedicated to my position for my high school and college years while paying my own tuition. I’ve been embedded in our community for 50 years, married to a local business owner, and have three children who attended Milton public schools. Happily they are finished with college! I want the townspeople to know that I’ve enjoyed my role as an integral member of the Board of Health since 2017. I love the work we do and am excited and driven to continue making a difference on the Board of Health. I am privileged to serve the town where my roots run deep, having grown up, graduated high school, earned my RNBSN, raised my children and worked at Milton Hospital, all within our vibrant community.
I was employed in Boston Hospitals for years, some of my best years, 15 in total at the Boston V. A. Medical center and now another 15 years in the Boston Public Schools with a National Nursing certification and am an active member of the wellness council that represents the Boston Public Schools. In my role I use CDC guidelines and the Boston Public Health Commission to inform me. In my day to day practice I implement health assessments, health plan development, care for students, immunization compliance, health screenings, staff and student education, perform communicable disease surveillance and control, along with using data to support decision making and alot more. I bring you best evidence based practice and real world experience. To say the least I have a multi-faceted role. I take my knowledge and experience to the Board and would like to continue this collaboration.
Please re-elect me on Tuesday April 29th and for my precinct 3 voters please give me a vote as Town Meeting Member.
