Ken Pariser announce candidacy for Milton Town Meeting Member, Precinct 6

My name is Ken Pariser, I am running for Town Meeting Member, Precinct 6, where I hope to effectively represent my neighbors.

Our family has proudly called Milton home since 1985. Two generations have attended Milton Public Schools. As a grandfather and retired physician, I believe that quality public schools and a cohesive community are the best way to preserve Milton’s future. Over the past decade, Milton’s growth has strained our schools and infrastructure. Now Massachusetts wants Milton, and 176 other communities, to expand residential housing. I am running for Town Meeting Member to help Milton plan for this mandate.

Twenty plus years ago, as President of the Medical Staff at Faulkner Hospital and a board member at Faulkner and Brigham and Women’s Hospitals, I helped bring people together during the merger of a successful community hospital and a world-class academic institution. By using clear communication and teamworking, I worked with others to find common ground and create a partnership that benefited both organizations.

Since then, I’ve spent time volunteering with government and non-profit organizations, focusing on homelessness, education, and healthcare. My goal has always been the same: to bring people with different viewpoints together and achieve positive results. I will use these same abilities at Milton’s Town Meeting, working with groups and individuals to find effective solutions for Milton’s future.

The Town Meeting must focus on providing cost-effective, environmentally sensitive, quality services and education.
