Experience “Glory” on the big screen Apr. 23 at the Milton Public Library
The Wednesday Monthly Movie for Adults will be screened on April 23, starting at 6:30 p.m., in our Keys Community Room. The title is “Glory” starring Matthew Broderick, Denzel Washington, Morgan Freeman, and many more wonderful actors. This film was directed by Edward Zick and it won 14 Oscars at the Academy Awards in 1990, including Best Supporting Actor by Denzel Washington.
It was nominated 18 times by the Oscars that year. We are showing it in honor of the end of the Civil War which happened 160 years ago. IMBD said this about the movie: “Still, in the end, Glory isn’t about big, noisy battles.
It’s about the transcendence of the human spirit in the face of bigotry, bad treatment, and almost certain death. It’s about a watershed moment in our bloody history that elevated us all and must never be forgotten. Glory is, indeed, glorious.” You do not need to sign up to attend. The rating is R for violence, racism and mature themes. It is not suitable for children under the age of 16. The running time is 2 hours, 2 minutes.
If you have never seen this film, we hope you will consider attending this program.
This event is kindly sponsored by the Friends of the Milton Public Library and is free and open to all.
