Alexander Hasha announces candidacy for Milton Town Meeting Member, Precinct 9

Hello! I’m Alex Hasha, and I’m asking for your vote on April 29 to represent Precinct 9 at Town Meeting. I live on Nahanton Avenue with my wife and our two kids—our son is in 7th grade at Pierce, and our daughter is in 4th grade at Collicot.

We moved to Milton in 2018 for the schools and green spaces. We found a tight-knit community with a spirit of participation and collaboration. I’ve met so many thoughtful and dedicated neighbors who inspired me to get more involved. I now serve as Vice President of Sustainable Milton, Chair of the town’s Climate Action Planning Committee, and as a deacon and choir member at United Congregational Church.

Professionally, I’ve spent 17 years as a mathematician in financial services. I value open-minded decision-making grounded in solid evidence—but I also know that data isn’t enough. Good judgment takes humility, careful listening, clear communication, and actively looking for common ground.

I’m running for Town Meeting because I’ve been sorry to see the rancor of national politics seep into our local issues, and I believe our values have diverged less than our sources of information. I support the override, prioritizing our schools, and making deliberate choices about growth to make Milton’s high quality of life sustainable for the long term. At the same time, I’ll work hard to represent our whole community with curiosity and respect for all perspectives. I hope I can earn your vote on April 29.
