My name is Winston Daley and I am running for a seat on the Milton Select Board. My wife Nicole, daughter Zahria, and I have lived in Milton for almost 12 years. In that time I have been a dedicated community leader, neighbor, and advocate for positive change. I am excited to bring new ideas, a passion for collaboration, and proactive leadership to the Select Board, at a time when we desperately need it.

My professional path and experiences have prepared me to take on the work required by Select Board members at this pivotal time. I began my career in financial services and institutional investing, which requires knowledge of financial markets, creativity, long-term planning and accounting. I have worked in building, supporting and running non-profit programs, which requires an understanding of family and community needs. I now work in the startup sector as an investor and member of one of the best-known angel investing groups in the Northeast, requiring that I measure risk and assess the probability of success. I am currently a Town Meeting Member and Park Commissioner, giving me experience in working collaboratively with other sectors of Milton’s government to accomplish town-wide goals. My positive, collaborative, forward-thinking leadership style will be an asset as our town aims to improve our education, local services, and economic opportunities.

In Milton, we have more shared priorities than competing ones. We have all invested in our homes and need the community to thrive and achieve financial stability. We want to provide a world-class education to every student. We want a healthy, thriving community that supports and provides opportunities for children, families, seniors, business owners, and everyone in between. We want a fantastic quality of life that allows everyone to thrive.

But Milton faces considerable financial strains and rapidly changing circumstances, and we need new leadership, a clear vision and a collaborative spirit to guide our future. I am dedicated to hearing the concerns of all our neighbors, proactively working towards solutions, and disrupting Milton’s current cycle of division to put our shared priorities at the center of everything we do.
