Vibrant Art on Display: Lidia Mikhaylova’s Wotiz Gallery exhibit to take place in March 2025
The Wotiz Gallery of the Milton Public Library is continuing an exhibit of some beautiful paintings during the month of March 2025. This display started at the beginning of February and it was created by Russian painter Lidia Mikhaylova who hails from Weston, MA. She is a highly creative artist and art teacher with more than 7 years of professional experience delivering visual art classes in the areas of painting and batik art. Her display includes many colorful floral images, plus other enjoyable subjects.
This is what Lidia says about her artwork: “I enjoy expressing the world around me through my paintings, and I love putting the reality of everyday life on the canvas using colors and shapes. The purpose of my art is to inspire people to see the hidden beauty in the simplicity of their surroundings. Too often we are waiting for miracles but forgetting to look right in front of us. There is a lot of beauty in everyday life!… Born and raised in Russia, Siberia, I’ve spent most of my life working in the corporate world as a lawyer. After more than 15 years of a successful career in Moscow, I made the decision to move to Riga, Latvia in the search of new ways to fulfill my dreams. Latvia is the place where I became inspired by the colorful imagery of my surroundings and completely fell in love with painting.”
Lidia Mikhaylova is an abstract artist inspired by the simple beauties of everyday life. Her work spans sensual artwork, still life, and fine floral paintings. She conveys elegance, playfulness, and depth through rich, vivid colors on silk fabric, using oil, watercolor, and pastel.
Lidia also fosters creativity through workshops, providing a space where participants can tap into their natural artistic expression. Over the past three years, she has led more than 85 workshops in art studios, public libraries, educational centers, and private and corporate events for people of all ages. She passionately believes that art is about the process, not the result—and that art is always a form of therapy.
In 2023-2024 she took 3 courses at Salve Regina University in the Expressive and Creative Arts Program and in 2024 she received a degree of Art Therapist at a Russian university. Lidia’s work has been featured in international art festivals, Art Hole Magazine, A5 Magazine, and art galleries from Brooklyn, NY to Laguna Beach, CA. She is the winner of the Billboard Contest 2022, and her work has been featured on a billboard in Sacramento, CA.
