Hal Munger Announces Candidacy for Milton Select Board

Hal Munger, a dedicated Milton resident, father of three, and experienced architect, is proud to announce his candidacy for the Milton Planning Board. With nearly 18 years of experience in architecture—including master planning, historic renovations, and navigating complex projects from permitting through construction—Munger brings valuable expertise to the town’s planning efforts. A graduate of the University of Notre Dame, he is well-equipped to tackle Milton’s development challenges with strategic and thoughtful solutions.

Beyond his professional background, Munger has been an active leader in the community, serving as President of the Notre Dame Alumni Club of Boston and Vice President of Properties for the Spirit of Adventure Scout Council. Locally, he supports the Milton Foundation for Education with graphic design, coaches youth basketball and flag football, and mentors aspiring young architects. Munger is running to bring leadership experience, informed decision-making, and fresh ideas to the board.

He believes that responsible growth requires clear planning, community input, and a commitment to residents, local businesses, and all who invest in Milton’s future. He is focused on revitalizing business districts, fostering investment that strengthens the town’s financial stability, and bringing voices to the conversation that will help achieve the best outcomes for the town. He emphasizes the need for a Planning Board that actively listens to all residents—those who have lived here their entire lives and those who rent and are new to town.

Instead of costly legal battles and delayed housing plans, Munger pledges to bring a proactive, solutions-driven approach that prioritizes thoughtful development and open communication. He is committed to a Planning Board that delivers on its commitments.

Hal and his wife, Jacquelyn, chose Milton for its sense of community, excellent schools, and quality of life. Raising their three sons—Harry (8), Will (6), and James (3)—in East Milton has reinforced his commitment to ensuring the town remains a welcoming, vibrant place for all. With his professional expertise, community involvement, and passion for smart, sustainable growth, Munger is ready to serve Milton with dedication and vision.
