Council on Aging meeting: updates, reports & community initiatives on Mar. 10

The Council on Aging (COA) will convene its next meeting on March 10, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. at COA, 10 Walnut Street, in the Classroom. Community members are encouraged to attend and participate in discussions on a range of important topics affecting seniors and the wider community.

Agenda Highlights

The meeting will begin with a Call to Order, followed by an opportunity for Public Comments, allowing attendees to voice their concerns, suggestions, and insights.

The agenda includes reports from key COA officials:

  • Secretary’s Report
  • Treasurer’s Report
  • Director’s Report, featuring:
    • Updates on ongoing programs
    • Details on upcoming trips
    • A recap of recent Town Meetings

Community Engagement and Committee Reports

The Friends of COA, represented by Doreen, will provide updates on their initiatives, while Mary Ann will present the SSE Report. Additionally, various COA committees will share their latest developments:

  • Quality Control – Report by Sara
  • Reach Out – Updates from Jeanne & Marge
  • Community Voices – Presentation by Janet & Caroline
  • History of COA – Insights from Yvonne & David

Old and New Business

Under Old Business, members will discuss ongoing projects, including:

  • Intergenerational initiatives – exploring ways to bridge generational gaps
  • Memorial tree for Marshall – Janet will continue collecting contributions for this tribute

New Business will introduce key discussions on:

  • The Vet Office and its impact on senior services
  • A proposed Code of Conduct for COA members and visitors

Open Floor for Community Input

The meeting will conclude with an open forum for Questions, Feedback, and Concerns, giving attendees a chance to engage directly with COA leaders and contribute to meaningful discussions.
