“Blood in the Snow”: Judge Dennis Curran’s Talk on the Boston Massacre Trials – January 7, 2025

The historical painting, reminiscent of the chaos of the Boston Massacre, depicts a battle scene in a medieval town. With soldiers and civilians clashing amidst the turmoil, it's an evocative image akin to Judge Dennis Curran's "Blood in the Snow" talk on January 7, 2025.

“Blood in the Snow”: Judge Dennis Curran’s Talk on the Boston Massacre Trials – January 7, 2025

The Honorable Judge Dennis Curran, who served as a Massachusetts trial judge for 15 years, will give a virtual talk called: “The Boston Massacre Trials – Blood in the Snow.” This will be a zoom presentation about the history and legal topics associated with the American Revolution and it will be held on Tuesday, January 7 starting at 7:00 p.m.

Denounced as an act of unprovoked violence and villainy, this event is one of the most familiar incidents in American history, yet one of the least understood.

We will revisit this dramatic episode and the resulting trials, the competing narratives that molded public perceptions, and the unheralded courage of one lawyer and a future President – John Adams – tasked with the defense of the captain of British troops charged with murder. This year marks the start of the Boston 250 Project, a series that celebrates the American war for independence.

If you love history, you will love this program!
