Art exhibit featuring paintings of Rose D’Intino Gates to take place in November at Milton Public Library’s Wotiz Gallery
The exhibit is called: “Giving Thanks.”
During the month of November, the Milton Public Library is pleased to announce a beautiful art exhibit to be displayed in our Wotiz Gallery, showing the work of painter and Milton resident Rose D’Intino Gates.
Rose is a mixed media artist with a strong background in oil and acrylic painting, and her work now incorporates photo transfers, stencils, and gold leaf. She works and teaches from her home studio and has studied at the New England School of Art and Design, Boston. She has participated in “plein air” workshops in Rockport, MA with David Curtis, and studied for 5 years with William St. George, Boston. She also studied Advanced Painting with Marlene Oliver at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and has exhibited her work throughout New England.
This artist has won numerous awards, including “Best of Show” in March 2017, Juried Show, Milton Art Center. She was also the recipient of The Artist’s Magazine’s Contest, which published “Flowers Blooming” in their March 2017 edition.
Rose is a current member of The Milton Art Center, Duxbury, Quincy, and Cape Cod Art Associations, and the South Shore Art Center. Her work reflects many styles, ranging from realistic to abstract to ethereal. Her paintings challenge the eye with their bold and joyful color as well as their strong design and sense of timelessness. Please join us to view this lovely display, which will be shown from November lst through the 30th.
There will also be a free and open reception held on Thursday, November 14 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. in the Gallery, where you can come meet the artist.
