MiltonPublic Library yarn sale to take place Sept. 28
Everyone knows that the Milton Public Library is the best place in town to go for a good yarn, but on Saturday, September 28th from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. ibn the Keys Room, on the Lower Level of the Milton Library will be transformed by members of the Milton Library Knitting group into your favorite local yarn store — all to benefit the programming budget of the Friends of the Milton Public Library.
Thanks to the generous donations from the community, shoppers will find a variety of yarns, ranging from cotton to wool and cashmere. The sale will also feature knitting books, notions, patterns, project kits, and mystery yarn bags.
If you have a question about a pattern or just how to get started, bring it to the “Ask A Knitter” panel. There will be a raffle of a knitted garment created by a member of the Milton Library Knitting group.
Milton Library Knitting was founded by fiber artist / weaver Nina Zoneyville in September of 2013. The group has met continuously, including virtually and socially-distanced throughout the pandemic, and draws knitters ranging in ages from 9 to 90. The current organizer is Amory Files.
The Friends of the Milton Public Library support over 800 programs for children, teens, and adults, including Milton Library Knitting. The Friends also run the Library Bookstore and the Museum pass program, offering discounted passes to 15 museums, parks, and zoos.
