The Milton Public Schools’ Policy Subcommittee, together with the full School Committee, will convene on September 18, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. in the Superintendent’s Conference Room at Milton High School. This meeting will address several key issues impacting students and school operations.

The agenda includes a review of the following important policies:

  1. Policy AC-R: Non-Discrimination Policy Including Harassment and Retaliation – This policy aims to ensure that all students, faculty, and staff are protected from any form of discrimination, harassment, or retaliation within the school district. Revisions to this policy could have significant implications for fostering a more inclusive environment across Milton Public Schools.
  2. Policy IJOA: Field Trips – With field trips being an integral part of the learning experience, this review will focus on ensuring that all trips are safe, educationally beneficial, and inclusive for all students.
  3. Policy JIE: Pregnant Students – The subcommittee will also revisit the guidelines for supporting pregnant students, ensuring they have equal access to educational opportunities and support services.
  4. Review of Section G – Section G typically pertains to personnel, and the committee will explore updates or changes that may impact staff policies and guidelines.

Additionally, the subcommittee will approve the minutes from previous meetings held on June 4 and August 14, 2024, before discussing agenda items for their next meeting. A formal vote to adjourn will conclude the evening.

Community members are encouraged to attend, as these discussions will shape critical school policies.
