MDPH confirms third and fourth West Nile Virus cases; Milton increased to high WNV risk status

Risk level raised in multiple Mass. towns

MDPH has confirmed the third and fourth WNV human cases of the season.

  • An individual within the ages of 60-69 from Norfolk County has tested positive for WNV.
  • An individual within the ages of 60-69 from Suffolk County has tested positive for WNV.

Due to these detections, the following cities and towns were increased to high WNV risk: Brookline, Cambridge, Everett, Milton, Newton, Quincy, Somerville, Watertown. Medford was increased to moderate WNV risk.
