Opera on Tap Boston and Circus 617 Present “Arias Aloft: Euphoria” at Hutchinson’s Field in Milton Aug. 3

Opera on Tap Boston and Circus 617 present, “Arias Aloft: Euphoria” in partnership with The Trustees of Reservations scheduled for August 3rd at 6:00 p.m. at Governor Hutchinson’s Field in Milton, MA. 

This series combines two thrilling art forms for a one-of-a-kind event in stunning outdoor locations. Featuring vocal acrobatics and physical virtuosity courtesy of some of Boston’s leading circus artists and classical singers, this performance will showcase opera, musical theater and cabaret classics paired with breathtaking original circus acts. Inspired by the unique natural surroundings of the Trustees of Reservations properties, “Arias Aloft: Euphoria” explores the use of nature as a metaphor for human emotion.

Arias Aloft returns to The Trustees of Reservations for an expanded program after a sold out performance on deCordova’s expansive lawn during the summer of 2023. The program is conceptualized and curated by each organization’s prospective co-founder and director, Kathryn McKellar(she/her) and Ellen Waylonis (she/her).

Opera on Tap Boston and Circus 617 present performers from each organization’s professional rosters whose credits include work with top music organizations including The Metropolitan Opera, Boston Lyric Opera, The Boston Pops, and Boston Symphony Orchestra, and movement arts companies including Cirque Productions, Shanghai Circus, and Nimble Arts.  In addition to McKellar and Waylonis, artists include aerialists Amanda Hackman (she/her), Rachel Barringer (she/her), Sophie Kaufman (she/her), and singers Erin Anderson (she/her), Arielle Rogers-Wilkey (she/her), Nicola Santoro (she/her) with Lindsay Albert (she/her), pianist.

“We are thrilled to return to deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum and to introduce “Arias Aloft” to Governor Hutchinson’s Field,” said Kathryn McKellar, Executive and Artistic Director of Opera on Tap Boston. “This year’s theme, exploring nature as a metaphor for human emotion, combined with the extraordinary talents of our opera singers and circus artists, promises a truly magical evening.

VENUE AND TICKETS: Arias Aloft: Euphoria will be performed Sunday, July. 14 @ 6:00 p.m., at deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum, 51 Sandy Pond Rd, Lincoln, MA 01773 and Saturday August 3rd @ 6:00 p.m. at Governor Hutchinson’s Field in Milton, MA.
