Interfaith Social Services welcomes new board members Donna McGinn and Joe Silva

Interfaith Social Services recently voted in two new members to their Board of Directors. Donna McGinn, of Marshfield, and Joe Silva, of Middleboro, were appointed to serve three-year terms.

Donna McGinn, who joined Interfaith’s board as an At-Large Member in 2022, is VP of Human Resources at Ryan Specialty, an international specialty insurance firm out of Chicago. She has more than 25 years of experience as a strategic and operational Human Resource Professional leader working in manufacturing, healthcare, insurance and non-profit industries.

McGinn has lived with her family in Marshfield for more than 20 years. She was introduced to Interfaith through a friend and colleague several years ago.

“I am honored to be a part of Interfaith Social Services mission and work alongside those that are committed to providing support to those in need,” McGinn said.

Joe Silva, VP & Branch Officer of HarborOne Bank in Quincy, became involved with Interfaith Social Services in 2020 after learning about and being exposed to Interfaith’s programs through their partnership with HarborOne.

Born and raised in Middleboro and currently living there with his family, Silva received an architectural engineering degree from New England Institute of Technology and previously worked at Citizens Bank.

“I’ve always admired the work and commitment Interfaith provides for the local community,” Silva said. “I feel fortunate for the opportunity to serve on the board and contribute to helping those in need within our local community. Serving on the board is personally fulfilling, but my favorite contribution is helping in the food pantry!”

Interfaith Social Services operates one of Greater Boston’s largest emergency food pantries, a mental health counseling center, Thrift Shop, and homelessness prevention program. Since 1947, Interfaith Social Services has been a safety net for thousands of children and families from the South Shore who are struggling to make ends meet.

Interfaith Social Services invites members of the public interested in joining the Board of Directors or becoming a food pantry or Thrift Shop volunteer to email [email protected] or call 617-773-6203 ext. 17.
