Quincy Flag Day Parade and Celebration to take place Sat., June 15th
Quincy’s Flag Day Parade and Celebration is Saturday, June 15th 2024 where the city pays tribute to America’s Old Glory.
Come bring the kids to this fun family friendly weekend event.
Quincy Flag Day Parade, Ceremonies and Fireworks 2024
7 :00 p.m. Parade:
Featuring bands, floats and specialty units. Steps off at the intersection of Coddington and Washington Street. It will head north up Hancock Street and turn into Merrymount Park on Merrymount Parkway before wrapping up at Adams Field.
Musical performers this year will include Windjammer Dixieland Band, Boston Crusaders Sr. Drum Corps, Defenders Sr. Drum Corps, Branches Steel band, Uncle Sam’s Patriotic Band, Northeast Italian Band, Quincy/North Quincy Marching Band, New Magnolia Jazz Band, Old Colony Bag Pipe Band, and the Roma Band.
The Flag Day Parade was started by Richard (Dick) Koch Sr. in 1952 when he led a group of youngsters around Norfolk Downs and finished with a flag-raising at Cavanagh Stadium. The parade has grown significantly through the years and fireworks were added in the 1990s.
8:00 p.m. Flag Raising Ceremony: Featuring patriotic songs honoring our service members, the flag and our country at Pageant Field.
9:00 p.m. Fireworks: Over Black’s Creek (Fireworks Display by Quirk Auto Dealerships)
