Sean Bentley announces candidacy for Town Meeting Member for Precinct 7
I am Sean Bentley, a lifelong East Milton resident who hopes to earn your vote to represent Precinct 7 as a Town Meeting Member on April 30.
I received an excellent education in the Milton Public Schools from preschool through graduation in 2018 and started my public service in high school. I coordinated a backpack drive for Interfaith Social Services, led visitor tours at the Massachusetts State House, and represented Milton as a Youth Delegate to the 2018 Massachusetts Democratic Convention.
In 2022, I graduated from Saint Anselm College with a degree in Politics and Communication and was in several academic honor societies. I was President of the Class of 2022 and was chosen to represent my college at the National Campaign for Civic and Political Engagement at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. I was also a two-year delegate to the Harvard National Model United Nations and an Ambassador to the New Hampshire Institute of Politics.
I learned a lot about government through my college internships with Senator Walter Timilty and US Senator Jeanne Shaheen, and while interning at the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the US Senate in Dorchester and the Bipartisan Policy Center (BPC) in Washington, DC. The most important lesson I learned was at the BPC, where I experienced firsthand how crucial collaboration is to achieve results to benefit the public. I currently work as an Immigration Case Assistant at Mintz Levin law firm.
I am running for Precinct 7 Town Meeting Member because I want to give back to the town that has given me so many opportunities and to represent the interests of my neighborhood and all of Milton. I will bring a new perspective to Town Meeting as I advocate for sensible affordable housing that doesn’t overwhelm East Milton and aligns with the voices of Precinct 7 in the recent vote. I will also work to ease the traffic and parking problems in East Milton, while also encouraging new customers for local businesses. And finally, I will always support our Milton Public Schools and our senior citizens who helped make Milton the great town that it is.
I would love to know what matters most to you, so please do not hesitate to contact me at [email protected]! Thank you very much for your consideration and I hope to earn your vote for Precinct 7 Town Meeting Member on April 30th.
