Joan Gancarski announces candidacy for Town Meeting Member for Precinct 1
Good day, Neighbors. I’m Joan Gancarski, and I’m running for re-election as a Precinct ONE Town Meeting Member. On Tuesday, April 30, when you enter the Precinct ONE polling booth at the Tucker School, under the column for Town Meeting Members, please add an X by my name: Joan Gancarski.
I live at 75 Oak Street, directly across the street from the Tucker School and Playground, and Voting location. I am familiar with the Tucker School not only as a neighbor, but for 14 years my employer offered me 1-day per month to volunteer for community service. During these years, I chose to volunteer at the Tucker School assisting with math and also serving as the Site Council community member. Besides being a Precinct ONE town meeting member, I am an elected member of the Milton Town Democratic Committee and the Massachusetts Democratic State Committee.
Throughout the 30+ years, I have lived in Milton, I have worked on numerous political and referendum campaigns in town, and at the state and national level. In addition, I am a trained U.S. Department of Justice federal Voting Rights Observer and active in protecting Voting Rights.
But most important, throughout the 30+ years in Milton, I have used my networks and experiences and as a Town Meeting Member representing Precinct ONE to Carefully read and research the Articles of each Warrant, Attend Town Meeting sessions, Listen to and help my neighbors have their voices heard, and Encourage other Precinct ONE citizens to run for Town Meeting.
I wish to continue to serve as an elected Town Meeting member, but promise my Precinct ONE neighbors to continue to help you and reach out to have your needs filled and have your voice heard. To all citizens of Precinct ONE: please vote for JOAN GANCARSKI on April 30. Location: Tucker School.
