Frederick Munroe announces candidacy for Town Meeting Member for Precinct 3
My name is Frederick Munroe and I am excited to announce my candidacy for Milton Town Meeting Member for Precinct 3.
I am a life-long resident of Milton and graduate of Milton High School. I earned a BA in Education and later went on to a career as a software engineer. My family has deep roots in Milton. My parents were married here. My mother was an administrative assistant in the Milton Police Department and my father coached Milton Little League baseball.
As a concerned citizen and now newly retired, I finally have the time and energy to focus on the issues confronting the town. I hope you agree with the policies I strongly believe in and allow me the opportunity to represent you in Precinct 3.
With the cost of living rising faster than most family incomes can sustain, I believe fiscal responsibility is more vital now than ever before to allow both young families and retirees to live and enjoy our wonderful and uniquely situated town.
I am a strong supporter of Milton for Responsible Zoning that advocates growth based on thoughtfully crafted standards and guidelines to address the housing crisis and allow families as well as multi-generational residents to live and prosper here while being fiscally responsible about the bottom-line impacts to Milton taxpayers.
Our town is overly dependent on the residential property tax. I believe that we need to attract more business to the town to diversify our tax base while being sensitive to the needs and impacts to our neighborhoods.
I strongly support efforts to keep our schools strong. According to US News, Milton High School ranks in the top 10% in the state and in the top 1000 nationally. Maintaining this status is important to keeping Milton a desirable place to live.
I ask for your support and your vote for Town Meeting member in Precinct 3 on April 30, 2024.
