Call for Teen Artists: Like It or Not at the Milton Art Center
The Milton Art Center invites teens to contribute a work of art for a gallery exhibit that examines the impact of social media on your life.
How has social media impacted your self-esteem, body image, confidence, mood, friendships, mental health, self-perception? From the pressure of validation to the complexities of identity in this digital age, we welcome art that explores the decision making each teen makes when interacting with social media.
Show Dates: May 3-June 1, 2024
Opening Reception: May 3, 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Intake: Saturday, April 20, 10:00 a.m. -Nnoon, or Friday, April 26, 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.
Opening Reception: Friday, May 3, 6-9pm
Pick up: Friday, May 31, 4-6pm, Saturday, June 1, 10-Noon
The reception will also feature local teen music performances and refreshments.
Submission Guidelines:
- Open to local teen artists, 7th grade and up
- Artwork can be any 2D medium, drawing, painting, digital art, photography, multi-media
- Artwork can be a self-portrait, inner landscape, abstract, neurographic art…
- One artwork only, no work larger than 48”x72”
- Artwork must be framed, ready for hanging (if not able to frame, earlier drop off date, April 20, for us to do)
