Join us for ‘Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris’ at Milton Public Library’s movie night on March 20
Our monthly movie series for adults continues on March 20 at 6:30 p.m. in the Keys Community room with the funny and entertaining film called: “Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris.”
This historical comedy/drama won a British Independent Film Award (BIFA) and received a nomination for an Academy Award in 2022. Lesley Manville plays Mrs. Ada Harris, a widowed cleaning lady living in London in 1957. After unexpectedly receiving a war widow’s pension, she travels to Paris to try to purchase a dress similar to one owned by a client, which is an haute couture Dior garment.
She longs for the same dress and stumbles into a showing of Dior’s 10th-anniversary collection and then several high jinks start to occur. Claudine (Isabelle Huppert), the Dior director, resents Ada’s intrusion into the exclusive world of haute couture. But very upbeat Ada perseveres and wins over the workers who make these beautiful clothes.
You will love this fanciful story! This screening is free and open to all, and is rated PG for smoking and some language.
