Applications being accepted for Milton Police Department Cadet Program
Milton Police Chief John King announces that applications are now being accepted for the position of Milton Police Cadet. The program is open to all Milton residents as well as non-resident minority and female candidates between the ages of 18 and 22.

Duties:
- Dispatching of police, fire and other emergency units Answering of 911 calls
- Maintaining and filing of records Preparing routine reports
Benefits:
- Salary $18.84 -$21.25 per hour

Eligibility Requirements:
- Applicant must demonstrate a genuine interest in law enforcement.
- Applicant will be subject to a background investigation.
- Applicant must have a valid Massachusetts driver’s license.
- Applicant must be in good physical and mental health.
The Milton Police Department announces that applications are now being accepted for the position of Police Cadet. Appointment as a Cadet for the Milton Police Department is a rare opportunity for individuals pursuing a career in law enforcement. Since the program’s inception in 1985 numerous cadets have gone onto law enforcement careers at the local, state and federal level. Actual work experience within a police organization gives a cadet firsthand knowledge of what it takes to be a police officer in today’s society.
Who may apply:
Milton residents between the ages of 18 and 22. By state law ONLY non-resident females and minorities may be also eligible. Age restriction applies to all applicants. Cadet employment under the law must terminate at age 25.
Salary:
$18.84 with step increases to $21.25

Shift/Hours:
The Milton Police Department is a twenty-four hour a day operation and therefore Day, Evening and Overnight shifts are assigned. Shifts vary to department needs and Cadet’s college schedules.
