Chris Hayden had years of experience in facilities and was also a Milton resident with two children attending Pierce Middle School.
The committee approved the employment contract for Christopher Hayden, and it required joint approval from both the school committee and the town. The committee also expressed its appreciation to Mr. Hayden and thanked him for his time.
In conclusion, the April 26th reorganization meeting of the Milton school committee was successful in electing Dr. Elizabeth Carroll as the Chair and approving the appointment of Chris Hayden as the Director of Consolidated Facilities. The committee conducted the meeting in an organized and efficient manner, with a focus on the betterment of the Milton school system.
Serving on Subcommittees and Advisory Committees
School Committee meeting members were invited to express their preferences regarding serving on subcommittees and advisory committees. The goal is to assign everyone to roles that allow them to use their talents effectively, while covering all the committee bases.
The official subcommittees of the school committee are finance and policy, and there can only be three members on each. The speaker acknowledges the service of one member and assigns two more to the finance subcommittee. Once the assignments are made, the scheduling of the subcommittee meetings can be changed to accommodate the new members’ schedules.
