John W. Folcarelli announces candidacy for re-election as Trustee of the Milton Public Library and Town Meeting Member, Precinct 8

Preservation – Promotion – Perpetuation

I am pleased to announce my candidacy for reelection as Trustee of the Milton Public Library, and for Town Meeting Member for Precinct 8, and I ask you for your vote.

I am proud of the Library’s accomplishments and especially proud of the Library’s equanimity and stunning accomplishments during my current term; the Library proved itself essential to the intellectual and cultural life of the community during the pandemic. The Library is now poised to emerge a stronger and ever more vital contributor to the life of the Milton community under the direction of our Library Director, Will Adamczyk, and our Assistant Library Director Sarah Truog, and with their excellent staff. The Library continues to provide services vital to the community, expanding its digital offerings and outreach.

I have served as treasurer and chairperson for the Trustees. I serve on the Trustee’s Budget, Triangle, and Trusts, Subcommittees. I serve on the Town’s Capital Improvement Program Committee and have represented the Library since it was given a seat on that committee.

This past winter, my then 6-month-old and now one-year old grandson began his Library attendance by participating in “Rhyme Thyme” in the Children’s Room. He is a big fan.

I am running for reelection as Trustee to preserve all that is good about the Milton Public Library, promote the Library’s assets and services, and lay the groundwork for ensuring that the Library is perpetuated as Milton’s cultural and learning center. I am convinced that the Library is the cultural center of the Town and that the role of the Trustee is to help guide and support the Library with the resources necessary to fulfill its mission.

I am also running for reelection as Town Meeting Member for Precinct 8. I believe that Town Meeting is fundamental to our democratic form of government, and I have been honored to serve on behalf of Precinct 8. I want to continue my support of the Library, the schools, the police, fire, public works, and all the departments that serve us so well and make Milton a wonderful place to live.
