Barbara Martin announces candidacy for Milton Town Meeting, Precinct 8
My name is Barbara Martin and I love Milton. It is with this sentiment that I am announcing my candidacy for re-election as a Town Meeting member for Precinct 8. I have represented Precinct 8, a Precinct in which I have lived a majority of my life, for the past 14 plus years and which I hope to continue to represent for the next three years.
I possess a strong understanding of Town Government having served on the Warrant Committee for 4 years, elected as a Cemetery Trustee for 5 years, appointed to the Airplane Noise Advisory Committee for 6 years and most recently, I acted as Treasurer for the Yes4Milton ballot initiative to fund the building of Milton’s Fire Stations, Prior to my retirement I was a member of the Select Board’s office staff, employed as the Contract and Licensing Agent which afforded me the ability to work with all of Milton’s departments, an all encompassing position.
Decisions as a Town Meeting member gives each participant the ability to help guide and shape the community in which we live, to preserve, protect and promote all that is important to all residents and I approach this position a with a strong sense of responsibility. I am a graduate of Milton High School and Stonehill College. I live with my husband Charles, and if you don’t see me puttering in my gardens you’ll probably find me on a golf course.
I respectfully ask for your vote on Tuesday, April 25th.
