Maribeth Flakes announces candidacy for Town Meeting Member, Precinct 10
Dear Neighbors,
I am excited to announce my candidacy as a Town Meeting Member for Precinct 10. My husband, John, and I moved to Milton 13 years ago as newlyweds, just married at the Milton Hoosic Club, and have loved starting our family here. I am the self appointed social chair of Cheever Street and am grateful to live on such a wonderful street with caring and supportive neighbors who love block parties, backyard get togethers, and a morning walking train to Tucker.
I am a dedicated Tucker Mom to Tigers Grace and Olivia. I have been on the Board for the Tucker PTO for the past 4 years, serving in the capacity of Vice President of Communications and currently serving my 2nd year as the Co-President. Our family is active in multiple sports in town including soccer, basketball, and softball, where I serve on the Board of Directors for Milton Girls Softball.
Born and raised in Massachusetts, I am a graduate of Bridgewater State University with a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and Spanish and a graduate of New York University with a masters degree in Higher Education Administration. After 20 years in higher education I recently changed careers to become an executive recruiter for a boutique recruiting firm, a role that has allowed me the flexibility and availability to stay invested in the community organizations that are so important to me.
Community means different things to different people, each of us has our own unique story to share that helps create the larger narrative of what makes Milton amazing. I’d be honored to represent Precinct 10 and ask for your vote on Tuesday, April 25, 2023.
Sincerely,
Maribeth J. Flakes
