“A Community Of Quilters” Quilt Show at Blue Hills Vocational School to take place March 18-19
Milton, MA: Local member of Rhododendron Needlers Quilt Guild (RNQG) represented in “A Community Of Quilters” Quilt Show – a showcase of over 150 quilts at Blue Hills Vocational School in Canton March 18-19.
Jane McClellan has always sewn and started quilting about 20 years ago because, as she says, “I just love it!”. Jane volunteers at the Milton Senior Center and, with a fellow guild member, had brought an assortment of quilts for the members to view a few years ago. This upcoming guild show is an excellent opportunity to see more quilts created by Jane and her fellow guild members; you don’t want to miss it!
The Quilt Show gallery of handmade quilts, in a variety of artful styles and colors, is open Saturday from 10am-5pm and Sunday from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Admission is $10 cash or check. Additional enjoyment at the show includes Raffle Baskets, Quilts for sale and on Silent Auction, a Raffle Quilt, Fiber Art Vendors, a representation of the approximate 100 comfort quilts per year donated to local community organizations, a Boutique of handmade items, including this years special Postcard Quilts and 12″x12″ wall art quilts. There is a Sew A Block activity for anyone to try their hand at sewing and participate in creating a Comfort Quilt. Guild members will be available to answer questions and explain quilting, assist with the quilt scavenger hunt, and there will be periodic docent-led tours of the quilts.
“A Community Of Quilters” Quilt Show is supported in part by a grant from the Canton Cultural Council and the Sharon Cultural Council, local agencies funded by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency and Roche Bros.
