Winter Light Wotiz Gallery exhibit to take place in March
From March lst through the 31st, local photographer Owen Hartford will display his photographs in the Wotiz Gallery at the Milton Public Library. This exhibit is called: “Winter Light” and it includes images taken mostly over the last few months around Milton. This is what the artist says about this body of work: “The qualities of sunlight in this season create interesting effects – indoors, outdoors, and in the sky. It’s something we don’t always notice, but the low angle of the sun can show you things you don’t see during the rest of the year. You see long shadows and the light creeping into odd places in your house.” The display includes landscapes, inside shots, street scenes and more, and they come together to create a nice variety of images for us all to enjoy. Mr. Hartford has been a photographer, musician and composer. He started taking pictures as a teenager in San Francisco, taught photography at Boston University, and recently published From Icicles to Africa, a book showcasing the diversity of photographic subjects and styles which will be offered for sale at the upcoming reception. This reception will take place in the Gallery on Wednesday, 3/1, from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. This event is free and open to all, and we hope you might come visit the Library this month to enjoy a lovely exhibit! If you would like to learn more about Owen’s work, his website is: bluehillsmedia.com and for more information about applying to display your art at the MPL, Email [email protected] or call the Reference Dept. at (617) 898-4964.
