Journey through the Nature Isle Wotiz Gallery exhibit with Elizabeth Thomas happening in February

From February lst through the 28th, Milton photographer Elizabeth Thomas will display a collection of photos of her home country of Dominica in the Wotiz Gallery at the Milton Public Library.

This exhibit will be called “Journey through the Nature Isle” and inspiration for it came about when – after a long hiatus – the photographer visited her beloved Dominica to see all the places, beaches and island hotspots she enjoyed as a child. After Elizabeth captured many images on film of these cherished memories, unfortunately after 2 weeks upon her return to the U.S., Tropical Storm Erika devastated her island home, ruining many of the places she had recently photographed. Her love of Dominica inspired her to share these photos with the public, to include lovely landscapes, colorful buildings and much more.

Some examples which are part of this display are a Roman Catholic Church in Scott’s Head, a lovely village on the Southern tip of the island, an aerial view of the Capital City of Roseau, and the natural flowers that line the coast. Because the Covid pandemic shut down travel but now with people starting to travel again, Elizabeth felt it was a good idea to reintroduce people to her beloved island home by installing this collection. We hope you will stop by and take a look at these lovely photos in February.

There will also be a free and open reception held on Thursday, February 9th, from 6:30p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in the Gallery, when you may come and enjoy this nice display and meet the photographer in person too!
