Volunteer for World Read Aloud Day at Collicot Elementary School

Wednesday, February 1st is World Read Aloud Day! And Collicot Elementary School is going to participate with an all school read. They are looking for Milton community members to sign up to read in each of our classrooms.

LitWorld, a nonprofit organization that promotes literacy, created World Read Aloud Day in 2010. Their mission is to strengthen kids and communities through the power of stories.

For 13 years, World Read Aloud Day has called attention to the importance of sharing stories by challenging participants to grab a book, find an audience, and read-aloud!

The global effort, created by the non-profit LitWorld and sponsored by Scholastic, is celebrated annually in over 173 countries and is all about bringing people together through the shared connection of reading aloud in all of our communities.
