Best place for kids’ ear piercing? – Milton Neighbors respond with advice

This question was recently asked in the Milton Neighbors Facebook group:

“Looking for recommendations on where to get my daughters ears pierced. Not interested in Claire’s I want a more reputable piercing place.”

Because we don’t allow businesses to recommend themselves in the Milton Neighbors group, you can virtually guarantee that these recommendations come from actual satisfied customers.

Here are the recommendations:

“Tattoo parlors are the cleanest, safest, and most regulated places to go. And I do not have a single tattoo but I would 100% use them over any mall location. My daughter had her last piercing at one. So much better”

“…agree!! & I’m the opposite, I have many tattoos & yes, tattoo parlors are a much better choice than those mall places! Clean/sterile environment & personally i think the employees at the tattoo parlors make the experience way more fun for a kid 🙂”

“For those that think tattoo parlors are seedy places, you couldn’t be more wrong.
Super sterile.
Super safe.
And piercing with a needle is so much gentler than those plastic guns. I don’t trust my 21 year old to properly clean the kitchen in my home. I would never trust one to shoot needles into my body. 🤣🤣🤣”

“Superficial Mod Spa Weymouth. recommended by daughter’s pediatrician. Had a great experience there.”

” I took my 9 year-old to Mass Eye and Ear in Crown Colony. They did a great job, including calming her nerves and numbing the ears before they pierced. We haven’t had any issues with the piercings.”

“My children’s pediatrician does it. You might check with yours first. Maybe they have recommendations if they don’t do it themselves.”

“Lucky’s on Mass Ave in Cambridge. They book far ahead and are members of the piercing accreditation association.”

“We went to Superficial Mod Spa in Weymouth. Phenomenal experience. Just took my youngest after taking my oldest two years ago.”

“Go to a tattoo shop that offers piercing as well. There is a Body Extremes in Quincy & there is also one in Brockton but I can’t remember the name. They are super clean.”

“One of my girls went to Owen at Chameleon, but I found it challenging to get an appointment for my other daughter.
Opted for Rockstar Piercing in Jamaica Plain. Highly recommend! Nice large shop, and great with my 9yr old who is terrified of needles.”
