The Mighty Storms of New England weather talk to take place Dec. 13
On Tuesday, 12/13, at 7:00 p.m., there will be a virtual weather talk called: “The Mighty Storms of New England” given by WBZ TV’s Chief Meteorologist, Eric Fisher. Mr. Fisher is the author of a book by the same title (Globe Pequot Press, c2021).
The New England landscape has long been battered by some of the most intense weather in U.S. history, and in this presentation you will discover the legendary storms that have devastated our area. Some of these include the Great New England Hurricane of 1938 that killed 564 people, the Worcester Tornado of 1953, and the Blizzard of 1978.
Colorful images will accompany the presentation, although there will not be time in Eric’s schedule for questions; however you may Email questions to host Librarian Jean Hlady at [email protected] and she will respond back to you afterwards with an answer.
The speaker anchors WBZ TV weather weeknights at 5, 6 and 11:00 p.m., and news at 10:00 p.m. on TV38 (WSBK-TV).
The duration of this talk is 45 minutes. Please sign up in advance at miltonlibrary.org to receive the Zoom link to attend this interesting program!
