Milton girls hockey team excels at sportsmanship during Weymouth game
Mollie Naughton, Milton Youth Hockey president, recently commended the Milton Girls U14 A team for their display of sportsmanship this past week.
During a game with Weymouth Youth Hockey, the Weymouth goalie was hurt and could not continue playing. Down 6-0, the coaches agreed to allow Weymouth to put 6 skaters on the rink and continue the game.
Despite an open net, the Milton team continued to play hard, but refrained from taking even one shot on the empty net.
“The parents, especially the goalie’s dad, were so grateful for the kindness of your team.” – Weymouth coach.
In a time when kindness does not always take precedent, these girls displayed generosity of spirit. Milton should be proud.
