Decolonizing Contributions by Indigenous People presentation to take place Nov. 8 at Milton Public Library
In honor of Native American Month, there will be a virtual presentation on Tuesday, 11/8, at 7:00 p.m. by the acclaimed Boston speaker Claudia Fox Tree. This will be a Zoom talk called “Decolonizing Contributions by Indigenous People” which will help us all connect the dots from the past to the present, and into the future, to learn how indigenous inventions and contributions are part of completing the story of what is now known at the United States.
Examine what is known about indigenous inventions and contributions, and consider the relevancy of this information in your own practice as a parent, educator and/or community member. This will be a unique educational experience, not to be missed!
Ms. Fox Tree is a social justice advocate who facilitates courses and workshops about having difficult conversations about diversity and anti-racism. She is also a full-time public school teacher and a doctoral candidate. For more information and to register to receive the Zoom link, please go to www.miltonlibrary.org We hope you might consider attending this excellent online lecture!
All of these programs are kindly sponsored by our Friends group, are free and open to the public, and some events are also supported by those grant-making agencies mentioned above and by Sustainable Milton. For more information about any program, please Email [email protected] or call the Reference Dept. at (617) 898-4964. We encourage you to come visit us for a fun event in November!
