Milton Superintendent James Jette placed on administrative leave
On July 14, the Milton School Committee voted to place school Superintendent James Jette on paid administrative leave in connection with a May 27 arrest.
Jette (of Stoughton) allegedly pinned his partner, also a Milton Public Schools employee, against a wall and put his hand around her neck, following an argument over a broken flower pot. A not guilty plea was entered on Jette’s behalf and he was released on personal recognizance.
A statement from Milton’s School Committee Chair Ada Rosmarin read:
“This action should not be viewed as disciplinary or an indication of any adverse finding relative to Superintendent Jette or his actions… Due to the nature of the pending legal matter, it is not appropriate for the School Committee to comment on the specific allegations… While we understand that the preliminary information which has been shared is troubling, we also ask for our community’s patience as this process continues and request that you continue to respect the privacy rights of all involved in this matter.”
