Rob Franco to feature art in Wotiz Gallery Exhibit in April

The Milton Public Library is hosting a new April exhibit by local artist Rob Franco which will be installed in our Wotiz Gallery starting April 2.

The subjects of Rob’s paintings include New England coastal scenes, birds and horses, plus much more.

This painter took second place in a 2014 juried show at the Art Complex Museum, and has worked at several local companies. Some of the images he creates are beautiful and colorful landscapes, animals, and children at play in the ocean – this is a display not to be missed! Rob and his wife Ruth, who live in Natick, MA, are dedicated to the preservation of the Wild Horses of Assateague Island in southern Maryland where they visit frequently to photograph these fascinating animals to use as an inspiration for his paintings.

This is what Mr. Franco has to say about his craft: “My passion for art began at an early age during visits to a neighborhood artist in Newport, RI. This led to training as an illustrator in the United States Air Force and continued as a graphic artist in the Boston area.

After studying with renowned artist and teacher, Albert Handell, at drawing and pastel workshops in Woodstock, NY, the focus of my art was portraits of children and animals…a fascination with the ocean and other bodies of water continues to inspire my work.”

We hope you might stop by the Library this month to view this lovely display which will be shown through April 30th.  Also, for more information about applying for an exhibit at the MPL, please Email Librarian Jean Hlady at [email protected] or call the Reference Dept. at (617) 898-4964.   We look forward to seeing you in the Gallery in April to enjoy some art!
