Covid-19 update
There has been a huge spike in cases since the holidays. Though the Covid testing dates have been successful, there is a pause in scheduling future dates at this time due to giving the staff a much needed break. Special Town Meeting-February 28
A discussion regarding pushing the date back for the Special Town Meeting to March 14 took place. The hope is for the meeting to take place virtually rather than in person. This will require seeking support for the extension of the bill supporting the remote town meeting option. The bill expired last month so the Select Board and Town Moderator, Bob Hiss, are in contact with state legislators to seek assistance.
Finance Committee update
The Select Board approved the appropriation of an additional 85k in ARPA funds to the Covid testing that took place on January 9.
Animal Shelter Advisory Committee update
This discussion item was deferred to the meeting to take place on January 26th. To view the committees latest plans, you can visit: Animal Shelter Plans | Milton MA (townofmilton.org)
Additional items of discussion
In observance of January 17, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the Select Board proclaimed their support for the No Place For Hate Proclamation, which can be found here: No Place For Hate Proclamation | Milton MA (townofmilton.org)
A public hearing took place in support of making Woodlot Drive, a part of the Milton Woods development, a public way.
The next Select Board meetings are scheduled to take place on January 19 and January 26.
