Tom and Pete’s Holiday Special hosted in Wotiz Gallery throughout December
From December 1st through the 30th, the Milton Public Library will host two local artists: sculptor Peter Berman and painter Tom Maholchic in an exhibit called “Tom and Pete’s Holiday Special.”
Peter is a native artist specializing in wire sculpture and he began creating art at the age of 8; now at 33 his ever-expanding catalogue of works are principally influnced by nature and the human form.
The sculptures are composed of colored aluminum wire, and sometimes incorporate complimentary materials like clay and paint. Tom is a resident of Milton who enjoys painting, mainly in acrylics.
Over the years he has pursued different styles, always looking for new creative challenges. His art ranges from impressionist landscapes, to portraits, and to abstract fluid art. Often blending different styles, he looks for inspiration from other artists, nature, and his surroundings.
Peter and Tom met as kids at Tucker Elementary School and began small collaborative projects in high school. Featured together in June 2019 at the Savin Gallery in Dorchester, and the Wotiz Gallery at the MPL in March 2020, their latest joint works include media from each of the specialties fixed adjacent to each other.
Please come visit us in December to view this fun and colorful display! For more information, Email [email protected] or call the Reference Dept. at (617) 898-4964.
The Milton Public Library is located at 476 Canton Avenue.
