Conservation commission update
Chair John Kiernan joined to discuss a report regarding the wetlands compliance enforcement plan. This would be a policy mandate to enhance education for the public, amend existing regulations, amend current by-laws, and review public processes. CARES( Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security) Act funds update
CARES funds will take care of the towns water bill this year.
In addition, the Select Board will set aside $100,000 to go towards more COVID-19 testing, which should cover four additional testing clinics. The town held another drive-thru testing clinic this past Sunday. Another testing clinic is scheduled to be held after Labor Day.
Another $100,000 will go to the School Department for the purchase of Chromebooks for the schools. Furthermore, the schools will also receive $17,500 for other technological updates and upgrades.
Lastly, $50,000 will go towards the purchase of personal protective equipment (PPE) in the event of future emergencies and $7,500 for a trailer to store the gear in.
Overall, money from ARPA funds has to be spent by Dec. 31.
Affordable housing update
The number of affordable housing units in town is increasing therefore the committee is working on a communications plan for the public which will include topics such as, lotteries for affordable units, a housing and production plan, and how to access emergency funds for qualified residents. More information with be forthcoming at the meetings in September. September 11 events

Town Administrator report
Census 2020 data came out and indicates that the population in town has grown by 6% in the last 10 years. Reprecincting will remain a future agenda item between now and October.
Additional items of discussion
A Common Victualler License was approved for Playa Bowls, a new restaurant opening on Adams Street at the end of September.
A request from Eustis Estate for a 1 day liquor license was approved.
The Select Board approved the renewal of the 3 year term agreement lease for use of Ulin rink.
Future meetings dates are September 8 and September 22.
