Spring Plaza to close on-ramp to I-93 beginning April 2

Milton officials today announced plans for a spring plaza to be located on the on-ramp to Interstate 93 on Granite Avenue. The plaza will close the on-ramp for the duration of the plaza which is scheduled to open April 2nd and continue through June 15th.

The spring plaza will feature kiosks from local restaurants and merchants as well as picnic table seating for customers.

Although no one in the adjacent neighborhood or in the town at large was consulted and no traffic study conducted, Town officials were confident in their prediction of an enthusiastic reception by local residents and played down traffic concerns.

“Shutting the I-93 on-ramp for two plus months to have the spring plaza will be a real boost for commerce in Milton and an amenity for town residents. I mean, who wouldn’t want to have a pastry or enjoy a nice lemonade while enjoying the sights and sounds of the southeast expressway? What could go wrong?”
