Letters: Use proposed winter plaza space to create European-like outdoor shopping “huts”
Dear Editor:
I think [the winter plaza] is a great idea. But I have a bigger proposal for you.
Every time I read about the Falconi housing proposals in East Milton, it appears to never gain traction from the neighborhood. Let’s not create housing to permanently move XX number of people into the square.
My proposal is to use the space to create small businesses. Build small “huts” or spaces for pushcarts to allow entrepreneurs to create a European like outdoor shopping area. Create small winding alleys that will allow people to shop, have a coffee and talk. Just look at some small sections of Zurich or Milan or many other cities, and let’s create a slice of Europe in East Milton.
This will benefit the town in terms of commercial businesses, give people a chance to start businesses and give Milton a very unique and vibrant area for people to visit and gather.
