MSAPC moves forward with updated strategic plan
The 15 members, and 3 subject matter experts of the Milton Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition go together virtually to study the results of our recent substance use Community Assessment. This informed the development of a new, updated coalition Strategic Plan, which now covers 2020-2025. This is a living document that gets tweaked as the coalition is doing the work on the ground. Additionally, every few years, we undergo a more structured review.
The primary goal of MSAPC continues to be to “prevent, reduce and address drug and alcohol misuse, primarily among Milton youth, through minimizing the contributing factors and enhancing the protective factors in the community”.
Our four objectives are:
1: Reduce youth feelings of stress, depression and boredom
2: Increase understanding of the reasons & ways to resist substances
3: Change community attitudes, behaviors, beliefs & traditions
4: Reduce youth access to alcohol & illicit drugs
Each of our objectives have multiple strategies. To take a look at our strategies, click here.
