Virtual Fashion Talk: Shoes Through the Decades
On Tuesday, 6/23 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., “Spirits of Fashion” consultant Karen Ren Antonowicz will present a virtual program this evening called “Shoes through the Decades.”
Are you curious about the footwear of years gone by? If so, join us as we explore the evolution of shoes from the reign of Queen Victoria through the decades of the 20th Century. We will discover the changes that occurred in footwear for women and men of the 19th and 20th centuries, emphasizing the influences that precipitated these changes. This program will be presented by Karen Ren Antonowicz of “Spirits of Fashion.” Ms. Antonowicz has a Masters from the University of Rhode Island and has taught the History of Fashion and other college courses for 13 years. For 5 years she and her husband, Mike, ran Nostalgia Antiques & Collectibles in RI and she speaks about the subject often at various organizations. Her Vermont company, Spirits of Fashion, is the vehicle for producing lectures and workshops on all eras of the history of fashion.
Registration is required on www.miltonlibrary.org; this event will be available via Zoom and everyone who signs up will receive connection information in their Email on the day of the program. You do not have to have a Zoom account to attend this program but you should download the Zoom app if you will be using an iPad or phone to participate.
This presentation is proudly sponsored by the Friends of the Milton Public Library and is free and open to the public. Please join us if you love fashion, and want to learn more about the fascinating history of what we choose to wear!
