Peter Dunn announces candidacy for Precinct 7
Hi Everyone. My name is Peter Dunn and I am running for re-election as a Town Meeting Member for Precinct 7.
My wife, Melissa, and I have lived in town for over 15 years and have three daughters in the Milton Public Schools. I am a graduate of UMass Amherst and Boston College Law School. I am also a former Army Reserve officer. I practice business law in Boston.
I thank you for the opportunity to serve over the last three years. I am truly inspired by the care and hard work that I have seen in so many great people in town in working on issues that affect our neighborhood and the town at large in my role as a town meeting member, as a member of the board of the East Milton Neighborhood Association, as a member of the Neighborhood Coalition and in other capacities.
Through the East Milton Neighborhood Association and as a town meeting member, I helped to have the town adopt the 25 mph speed limit. Working with our neighborhood association, I have advocated for adoption of an ordinance for 20 mph safe zones for parks, senior centers, pre-schools and the like which the Select Board has now brought to the warrant committee.
I also spent more hours than I care to count working alongside many great East Milton neighbors on the Falconi company working group where we advocated for sensible and appropriately scaled re-development in East Milton Square.
I successfully collaborated with leaders in the Neighborhood Coalition against a proposed ordinance that would have allowed for an un-elected planning board member who could have voted on large-scale proposals without voter accountability.
I am running to continue to work on these and many other issues that affect our neighborhood and Milton at large.
