Works of Sandrea Lovelock-Williams to be featured in Wotiz Gallery at the Milton Public Library in February
Wotiz Gallery Reception for Sandrea Lovelock-Williams Exhibit is scheduled for Thursday, February 20th from 6-8 PM in the gallery
In the Wotiz Gallery from February 1st through the 29th, Ms. Lovelock-Williams will show her lovely paintings which depict people, still life images, and much more. Sandrea teaches art at the Community Charter School Cambridge and has worked at several other educational institutions, including as a high school teacher for the Cambridge Ridge and Latin School. She has a degree in Painting and Art Education from the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston.
In 2019 one of her paintings, which was on display as part of the Fay Chandler Emerging Artist Awards at Boston City Hall, was chosen as the year’s winner as “Best in Show.” This painting won over the jurors for its overall excellence. The subject, a young man, stands in a corner and is dressed up, putting his weight on both feet. His demeanor seems somewhat hesitant with a downward gaze.
The jurors described the painting as “a portrait of a young man on the edge of adulthood.” Sandrea’s painting is further described as follows from the City of Boston website: “The execution is brilliant. Williams makes rich color choices, uses masterful brush strokes, and is confident in her work with light and shadow. She gives us an excellent sense of depth and texture. William’s work shows both control of her medium as well as great potential for the future. Well done!”
We hope you will come and view this colorful and enjoyable exhibit at the Library and there will also be a reception for this display, with the date for it available soon at our Eventkeeper at www.miltonlibrary.org. The artwork of Ms. Lovelock-Williams is really wonderful to see!
