Town clerk announces census is in mail

Milton Town Clerk, Susan M. Galvin is advising all residents to be on the lookout for the 2020 annual Town Census, which will be arriving in their mail.

Please confirm/update your census form, sign and return to the Office of the Town Clerk within ten days of its receipt. Failure to do this could result in voter status becoming inactive.

Responding to the census on a yearly basis is important as it assists residents with proof of residency for numerous personal and/or legal matters. It also allows the town to maintain accurate population information for the allocation of state and federal funds, as well as grants.

As well as numerous personal and/or legal matters, the Census also assists with In-state tuition at state colleges or universities; Housing benefits for the elderly or other eligible persons; Veterans’ benefits; Insurance benefits; and School enrollment.

The census also includes a separate dog license application for the convenience of those residents who choose to register their dog(s) by mail. Please note that all dogs must be licensed by May 1, 2020.

The Clerk’s Office wishes to thank all the dog owners that have already licensed their dogs and remind dog owners who will be completing the application to include a copy of the rabies certificate and if applicable, proof of spaying and neutering, a check with appropriate payment and a self-addressed stamped envelope.

Residents are also welcome to register their dog(s) in person or on-line.

If you do not receive a census form or have any questions, please call the Office of the Town Clerk at 617-898-4859 or email Town Clerk, Susan M. Galvin at [email protected].

We want to help you with this important mandate and want to ensure that all households and dogs are accounted for.
