Friends old and new raise $1800 for Milton Music Program at Milton Neighbors 11k Celebration Social
On Thursday, January 9th, over 70 neighbors came out to enjoy good conversation, cocktails, and apps, celebrate Milton Neighbors reaching 11,000 members, and donate to a very worthy local cause at the Milton Neighbors 11k Celebration Social.
Though the goal of the social, hosted by The Milton Scene, was to foster community, the event also raised $1800 for the Milton Public Schools pilot music program for children who wish to take a musical instrument, and need financial assistance to participate. Lots of laughs – and even some networking connections – were had by those who attended.
Coleman Rose, Darby McCullough, Lemuel Marc and Henry Link of the Milton High School music program entertained the group with a number of jazz pieces. (They were absolutely wonderful and we are hoping to see more of them at a Novara brunch in the future!)
Many thanks to those who attended, many of whom who donated extra, as well as key sponsors, Gervasi & Co., Chinman Law, The Hanley Group, and the Leguia Family as well as all of the businesses who donated to the swag bags. The Milton Scene donated special advertising packages to each business sponsor. Special thanks to Novara for hosting – and for tolerating those of us who stayed waaaay longer than the scheduled 8 p.m. end time. (Milton Neighbors can tear it up!)
Do you have an instrument collecting dust in your attic? Did you know that you can donate it to Milton Public Schools for tax-deductible donation? Email [email protected] for more details.
